So again we go through another murder of a black child killed by a white cop and the white cop of course will not be charged for this heinous act. And once again a family sits back in mourning wondering what happened and wondering why these white cops never seem to face any type of justice. An even bigger dilemma that I see taking place is this sense of powerlessness in our black community. Taking an honest look at this we can clearly see that we have been brutalized and scared into waiting to be told NO. I mean really let’s look at the pattern which has taken place over the course of the last 3 to 4 years. You have had major murders by white cops of black citizens and these cops either don’t get indicted, or don’t get found guilty in a court of law.
On the other hand you just had two Louisiana cops, who just happened to be black, who were indicted and found guilty in a court of law and are now looking at lengthy sentences in prison. This isn’t rocket science what’s going on. Racism is alive and well and black people have been the victims and will continue to be the victims if we do not start banding together as a unit. When I say band together I don’t mean just homeboy time. I mean whatever happens in the black community out in California affects the black community in New York. I mean if a black citizen is killed unjustly in Alabama then no money should be spent by any black community in the country, except on needs. I mean to the point where we start insulating ourselves and not talking and laughing with the enemy. We’re the only group of people who laugh and bojangle with the same people who pull out guns and shoot us and our children. That’s got to stop! Who laughs and kicks it with their known enemy? We may not have weaponry and all that but we can have one another and we can put others on edge by not engaging them at all. Let them feel it in their pockets. Let them feel uncomfortable by not talking and laughing and joking. Let them know that anytime there is a business transaction that takes place, that’s all it is, nothing more and nothing less. Save the smiles and laughter for our children and the people closest to us. This is just one of the ways to send a message that we mean business and until our people stop getting killed we are not going to be friendly. Matter fact our attitude should be more like a person who’s very life is on the line. That person isn’t laughing and joking, that person is fighting to live. Closed meetings where they are not invited is mandatory. This sends a loud clear message that they are not wanted at our functions, which in turn makes them nervous. Keep the conversations to a minimum with them. Remember, we are not the racists, therefore we don’t have to prove anything to them, they on the other hand have to prove everything to us.
