So they have blocked me from using Facebook, three or four different times now, and now they have taken down some of my posts off of Instagram. Facebook apparently owns Instagram and Periscope, but the censorship in my opinion is illegal in nature and violates constitutional law. I’ve been told that I should sue but I’m not sure that I want to expend energy on working to be on someone else’s social media outlet when that energy could be well served promoting our own available outlet or creating one ourselves.
In my opinion Black people should all get off of Facebook and not because of the censorship that I’ve faced but rather the censorship we all have the potential to face when we speak our minds and talk about issues that others find uncomfortable or just don’t agree with. When we become the type of society where people get censored because we don’t agree with them on issues then that is leading into dictatorship and other areas control that our ancestors had to endure on a daily basis during their time on slave plantations in this country. If we give the same amount of time and dedication to MoorUs or BlackJunction.com or other, Black Social Media Outlets, then we can build those brands and make them competitive with the likes of Facebook, without all the censorship harassment that goes along with it. #ForUsByUs, #WeAllWeGot!
