Throughout the course of our sojourn on these shores of the Unite States, black people have faced hardships to an extent that no other groups on these shores have had to experience. Due to that constant struggle we’ve had to fight, sometimes literally, to get laws placed, legislation passed and even people recognized for the bravery they have shown in the face of racism, discrimination, physical abuses and adversity. Hell we have still not been given our due reparations so at the very least some civil icons have been recognized and minor programs put in place. So what happens, other races come in (particularly caucasians) crying foul, or working to flip the scenario and use it to benefit them. Take for instance Affirmative Action. This was supposed to make the playing field a little more even for us as a people but instead benefitted whites more than it ever did Black People in this country.
Now you have the case of David Dao, A passenger thrown off of a United Airlines flight and now all of a sudden corporate run media is making comparisons with him and Rosa Parks, calling him the modern day Asian Rosa Parks. Please stop! This is a total disgrace to the legacy of Rosa Parks and everything that she fought for. Dr. Dao is a homosexual who sells oxycontin and basically had happen to him what many Black People experience everyday in ghettos across this country when the police enter those communities and go on killing sprees. So how one can make a comparison between him and the late, great Rosa Parks, I don’t know. It’s a complete insult and should be corrected immediately, not by the corporate run media but by us as a people. If we are waiting on media or other races to do what we should be doing ourselves then we will never get anywhere because they’re never going to do it. And quite frankly, they shouldn’t, it’s on us. Let’s make sure we are reading and researching so that we know the history. They are going to try whatever they can, but it’s our fault if we let them get away with it. Let’s continue to correct them on the history, whether they like it or not!
